01 - OVERVIEW
Sun Life Global Investments is part of the Sun Life group of companies, a global asset manager with offices in nearly 20 countries and over $1 trillion under management.

The SLGI website is a portal for investment advisors as well as retail investors to research details on funds that are right for them.

PURPOSE
To redesign the existing fund and performance pages on the Sun Life Global Investments website.

02 - BACKGROUND
One of the major problems was the site was launched about 10 years ago and had a manual process of updating any data.

Adding a new fund or deleting an expired fund was also a manual process.

The site also needed an update to the new SLGI brand identity. Work on the site redesign had already begun with iteration 1 and well as user testing on that design before I started at Sun Life.

03 - SCOPE
The scope of the project was a redesign and introduce an automated backend system to automate many functions.
04 - RESEARCH
Part of the research process was the competitive analysis.
The new PO had just come from Investco who brought a lot of knowledge and experience in the mutual fund industry.

We did a number of interviews with investment advisors to understand what was most import to them. We also looked at how other fund organizations solved the issues of dense information.
